No Derby Day is complete without a sip of Mint Julep from an authentic Julep Cup! According to tradition the cup must be made of silver or pewter and held only by the bottom and top edges of the cup… this allows frost to form and reduces the heat transferred from had to cup. The mint julep is believed to originate in the South during the 18th century. Today the tradition continues and no Derby day party is complete without a sprig of mint in a julep cup!
This traditional style julep cup is heavy silver plated and engraved with the official Kentucky Derby Logo, approved by Churchill Downs. It does not include a year, so it can be used for many Derbies to come! 4" tall, holds 8oz. gift boxed. Sold individually.
