          Beth Carlson Biography Information

          American 1953

          Born in Morristown, New Jersey, Beth Carlson's gift with charcoal and oil equine and canine portrait paintings has made her the choice of many animal lovers across the country. Throughout her life she has successfully trained and shown horses and dogs to numerous championships at state, regional and countrywide levels.

          Because of her extensive background with animals, she consistently captures the individual personality as well as the physical characteristics of her subjects.  Carlson studied with Werner Rentsch, President of the American Academy of Equine Art, Sam Savitt, once the official artist for the United States Equestrian Team, Robert Abbett, the renowned sporting dog artist, and Daniel Greene, one of America's leading portrait painters.

          • Her commissions include:
          • National Field Champion Diamond Hill Dan, Brittany Spaniel, owned by Paul Pollack.   
          • John Greenall's impressive four in hand, a well known figure in the coaching world. 
          • 2004 Hanoverian Preliminary Champion.
          • Carslon's paintings have graced the covers of The Pointing Dog and Gray's Sporting Journal.
          • 2005 - Accepted as an Associate Member to the prestigious
            WOMEN ARTISTS OF THE WEST
