Gypsy Vanner horse is a breed with its origin among the traveling Gypsies of the British Isles. A mix of draught horses and pony breeds give quite a large variation in size and appearance, but the typical horse measures 15 hands, and is white with large black or brown colourings. An abundance of mane, tail and feather give this animal a magical look, true to it's heritage. A perfect caravan horse is strong, intelligent, docile, athletic, and colorful and has excellent endurance. Heavy bone, flat knees and ample hooves give this magnificent animal the foundation to sustain a body that includes a broad chest and heavy hips. The withers are rounded making the horse very suitable for harness and the bareback riding style of the Gypsy children. Artist Joan MacIntyre has captured an idyllic scene of the Vanner horse refreshing in a stream with the colorful caravans resting in the green meadow. This high quality giclee print is from the original oil painting. Printed on acid free art paper, available in two sizes. Signed and numbered in pencil by the artist. Artist Biography
